Having trained at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Sally began Wompy’s in 1996. Her goal was to combine musical entertainment with children’s theatre in order to both educate and entertain: her philosophy being that once a child is enthralled, they will learn in the best way possible. Word of mouth spread quickly and within 12 months there was a waiting list of over 100 children, which increased to a waiting list of over 300 within 4 years. The feedback she has received throughout the years from both parents and children proved that there is a way to enter a child’s world, light their imagination and captivate as well as educate.
Lauren joins the Wompy’s team after working at a local preschool for the past 14 years. Having met Sally when they were both pregnant with their first children, Lauren stayed in touch with her British friend through two more children and 23 years! Her background in musical theater, love of young children, and time spent with many young mothers through the years make her a natural at conducting weekly Wompy’s classes.
Rick brings to Wompy’s over 30 years of experience in preschool and infant toy manufacturing. His passion for marketing what is both educational and fun for young children was sparked when seeing what a Wompy’s class was all about. The use of puppets, toys, art boards and a child’s imagination enticed Rick to bring Wompy’s to the United States in the summer of 2011.
